Radio #
This is a multiple-choice question that has only one correct answer. You can offer a list of answer options to the quiz takers so they can choose the correct one.
This question type is one of the most commonly used question types and you can use it in almost all kinds of quizzes.
To add a question with the Radio question type, please do the following:
- Head to the Quiz Maker plugin > Questions Page.
- Click on the Add New button and choose the Radio from the list.
- Add answer options and choose one of the answers as correct.
Let’s discuss the following question as an example of the use case of the Radio Question Type.
Question:
Which ocean is on the west coast of the United States?
a. Atlantic Ocean
b. Indian Ocean
c. Pacific Ocean
The correct answer is the Pacific Ocean.
So, we need to tick the C option as the correct one. You can set a weight/point system, thus giving your desired value for the correct/incorrect answers.

Once you are done with the Settings Configuration of the question, you can add it to your desired quiz. For that, please do the following:
- Head to the Quizzes > particular quiz.
- Click on the Insert Questions button and choose the question from the list.
- Don’t forget to save the changes.
Checkbox (Multiple) #
The Checkbox (Multiple) question type is used when you want the quiz taker to choose several answer options for the question. You can use this question type if there is more than one correct answer for the question. This question type can be used in quiz types like Trivia Quizzes, Health Quizzes, Personality Quizzes, etc.
Here are the steps to add a new question with the Checkbox Question type:
- Go to the Quiz Maker plugin > Questions Page.
- Click on the Add New button and choose the Checkbox from the list.
- Add answer options and choose several number of answers as correct.
For example, you can create this kind of question type with the Checkbox question type.
Question: Which 2 movies has Leonardo DiCaprio starred in?
a. Pulp Fiction
b. Titanic
c. The Wolf of Wall Street
The correct answers for this question are both the B and C answer options.
If you are creating a scored quiz, you can assign weight/points for the correct and incorrect answers.

Once you are done with the settings configuration of the question, it is high time to add this question to the already-created quiz.
For that, please head to the Quizzes > particular quiz > click on the Insert Questions button. Save the changes afterward.
Dropdown #
It is a multiple-choice question where answers are presented in the dropdown menu. There is one correct answer to the question.
Like the Radio question type, this question type as well can be used in almost all quiz types.
To add a question with the Dropdown question type, please do the following steps:
- Go to the Quiz Maker plugin > Questions Page.
- Hit the Add New button and choose the Dropdown from the list.
- Create answer options and choose one answer as correct.
Here is an example of the question created with the Dropdown question type.
Question: Which actress is in the picture?

Option A is the correct answer, so tick the correctness checkbox.

Text #
Also known as Paragraph, this question type is designed to gather detailed answers from the quiz takers. The users need to type their answers for this question type.
You can use this question type for Opinion quizzes, Math tests, Foreign language quizzes, etc.
To add a new question with the Text question type, please perform the following steps:
- Head to the Quiz Maker > Questions Page.
- Click on the Add New button and choose the Text from the list.
For this question type, you need to provide only the correct answer. The quiz takers will see an input where they need to type the answer to the question on the front end.

As to the settings configuration of the question type, you can add a weight/point for the question.

Once you created the question, you can publish it by adding it to the quiz.
For that, please do the following:
- Go to the Quizzes > particular quiz and click on the Insert Question button.
- Save the changes once you are done.
Type-specific features #
Also, some settings are typical to only this question type. Let’s discuss them as well.
- Placeholder – You can write a placeholder text that will be displayed inside an empty input field to show quiz takers what type of information or format is expected.
- Maximum length of a text field – You can restrict the number of words/characters the quiz taker can insert in the text field.
The option has suboptions like the Limitation by Words or Characters, Characters Length, and the Word/character counter. - Enable case-sensitive text – By enabling this option, the quiz taker should type the answer in the particular form.
For example, if the right answer is “true”, the “TRUE” will be counted as a wrong one. - Delimiters – With delimiters, you can provide several correct answers.
For example, if the correct answer is USA, and it has several ways to address, you can write this name like this:
US%%%USA%%%United States. By this, both the US, USA, and United States will be considered as correct answers.
Short Text #
The next advanced question type offered by the plugin is the Short Text. With this question type, the users need to provide short answers to the question.
You can use this question type in Vocabulary Quizzes, General Knowledge Quizzes, and many more.
Please do the following steps to add a new question with the Short Text Question type:
- Go to the Quiz Maker plugin > Questions Page.
- Click on the Add New button and choose the Short Text from the list.
Similar to the Text Question type, there is no need to set incorrect answers to this question. You just need to write the correct answer and the users must type their opinion on the front end.
Also, you can add a weight/point for the answer.

Type-specific features #
As in the case of the Text question type, some settings are specific to the Short Text question type. These are the Placeholder, Maximum length of a text field, Enable case-sensitive text, and Delimiters.

Number #
You can use the Number Question type to collect numerical data. The users need to type numbers as answers for this question type.
To add a new question with the Number Question type, please head to the Quiz Maker > Questions Page. Then, click on the Add New button and choose the Number from the list.
All you need to do is to write the question. There is no need to add answer options. Besides this, you can add a weight/point for the answer.
Here is an example of the use case of this question type:
How many continents are there in the world?
To publish the question and make it visible in the quiz, please follow these steps:
- Go to the Quiz Maker plugin > Quizzes page > particular quiz.
- Click on the Insert Question button and save the changes.
Type-specific features #
Also, the Number question type has some settings specific to this question type only. These are:
- Placeholder (text displayed in an empty field) – A text displayed in an empty input for the answer.
- Maximum value of a number field – It is the maximum accepted value for the number field. For example, if you give a 20 value to the field, then the user can answer the question by writing a value less than or equal to 20.
- Minimum value of a number field – It is the minimum accepted value for the number field. For example, if you give a 20 value to the field, then the user can answer the question by writing a value more than or equal to 20.
- Show error message– If you type something else besides the numbers in the answer box, then, the “Error text” message will appear.

Date #
You can use the Date question type to gather specific date-related information from quiz takers.
For this question type, you need to write the correct answer by month, day, and year. Also, you can add a weight/point to this question.
To add a question with this question type, please perform these steps.
- Head to the Quiz Maker > Questions page.
- Click on the Add New button and write the question with the correct answer.

Once you are done with the settings configuration, you can publish the question.
For that, head to the Quizzes page > given quiz and add the question to the quiz by clicking on the Insert Questions button.

Info Banner #
The Info Banner is a question type used for informative purposes. The quiz takers can’t provide answers to this question. You can insert the questions with the Info Banner type between categories to inform the quiz takers about the subject of the next category/section.
In order to add a question of this type, please do the following:
- Go to the WordPress Quiz plugin > Questions page and click on the Add New button.
- Then, choose the Info Banner from the list.
- Write the question and configure the remaining settings as per your use case.
Please note, that as this question is intended for informative purposes, you can’t add a weight/point to it.
Here is an example of this question type:
The next 10 questions will refer to the History Category.
To add the question to the quiz, please go to the Quizzes > given quiz > General Tab and click on the Insert Questions button.

True/False #
The True/False question type offers a question with 2 answer options. The quiz taker must decide between the true and false options.
The process of adding a new question with the True/False question type is the same as in the case of all the remaining question types.
Please follow these steps to add a new question with the True/False question type:
- Go to the Questions page and press the Add New button.
- Then, choose True/False as a question type from the list.
- Configure the settings and save the changes.

Fill in the blanks #
For this question type, the quiz taker must fill in the blank space with the correct answer.
For using the “Fill in the blanks” question type, you will need to write the answer and add the given slug in the question.
You need to add the slug in the place where the corresponding answer should be written.
You can add a placeholder (a text that will be displayed in an empty input) and delimiters to the question. With delimiters, you can set several correct answers.
For example, if the correct answer is the USA, and it has several ways to call it, you can write the name like US%%%USA%%%United States. By this, both the US, USA and United States will be considered as correct answers.
To add a new question with this type, please do the following steps:
- Go to the Questions page and click on the Add New button.
- Choose the Fill in the blanks from the list and write the question with the correct answers.
Here is an example of the question type:
The Pacific Ocean is the __________ ocean in the world, and it is located to the __________ of the United States.
The quiz taker must fill in the correct answers in the blank spaces.

Matching #
By using the Matching Question type, you can connect related items in the sentence. Here the Choice must be related to the Match.
You can add as many choices as you want. Also, you can reorder the choices.
To add a new question with the Matching Question type, please do the following:
- Head to the Quiz Maker plugin > Questions page and click on the Add New button.
- In the next step, choose the Matching type from the list.
- Add choices and matchings and configure the remaining settings accordingly.
You need to configure several settings to make use of the question type.
- Distractors – Besides providing correct matches, you can also insert incorrect matches to distract the quiz takers.
- Weight/Point – Besides setting a question weight, you can also specify the weight/point of the answer. It will be multiplied by the question weight (if you choose quiz calculation by points).
